Cork Bark!
Premium Cork Bark
If you've talked with me about bark, you know that I prefer oak bark for most things, but for reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, centipedes, some roaches, mounting orchids and ferns, and setting up certain types of terrarium, cork bark is the best choice. It's not easily eaten by detritivores, and it doesn't decay for a very long time even underwater or buried in dirt.
The problem, is that a lot of the cork bark available is, like many terrarium supplies, not very good quality, and potentially full of hitchhikers.
So, I went looking for a bulk source of high quality cork bark. I won't claim to have the cheapest cork bark you can find, but this is really good quality, and I freezer sterilize all of my bark and store it bagged up in heavyweight zipper bags.
There's currently three options:
Small Cork Bark Flats:
Two pieces, in a quart bag - $10
Limited amounts available, but if these sell well I'll order more sizes.
Cork Bark Half Rounds:
These are very nice, thick half rounds.
Sold individually, though a few bags have a couple smaller ones together.
$10 each
Premium Cork Bark Lots:
These are a mix of tubes and odd shapes, in larger sizes. Order by telling me which lot number you want.
Lots will be removed when sold, and are priced individually.
